New partners join Pronatura Noroeste for the restoration of the Tijuana River
Aiming to generate an habitat for wildlife and recovering natural spaceswithin a stretch of the non-channeled Tijuana River, restoration actions will be carried out in order to rescue hydrological and ecological functions on the area.

Communities from the Gulf of Santa Clara and Guerrero Negro will have conservation projects to promote a change in social behavior for the benefit of shorebirds
These projects were selected during a certificate course Pronatura Noroeste taught together with UABCS directed at students from all over the country and focused on the community improving its relationship with the natural environment and thus protecting the nesting and feeding areas of these birds.

In commemoration of World Wetlands Day, which is celebrated on February 2nd, at Pronatura Noroeste we promoted community participation in contests and workshops about artistic expression, creativity, and talent for young girls and boys, youth, and adults.

We´re closer to an environmental solution for the pollution of the Cedritos Drain
At Pronatura Noroeste we formed a multidisciplinary group with government and society to address the serious problem of the contaminated riverbed, in addition to promoting circular economy projects with the residents of the affected area.

2021-22 Shorebirds monitoring process concluded successfully in 17 wetlands of our region
This monitoring, which we carry out together with UABCS, is aimed to detect population changes in shorebirds and migratory birds, as well as possible threats to their habitat. It is conducted every two years as a part of a continent-wide effort for wetlands in the Pacific.

We flew a surveillance drone for the first time in Bahía de Loreto National Park
On February 2nd, we carried out the first flight of a drone for the safe and timely surveillance of the ecosystem in Bahía de Loreto. The drone is an Edge 130 model, the only one of its kind in Mexico.

The Federal Government establishes measures to strengthen the octopus fishery in the Gulf of California
The Mexican government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has made public on February 15th the Octopus Fishing Management Plan for the Eastern Coast of Baja California, which represents a historic achievement to strengthen the octopus fishery in the region, and an example to promote fishing management in Baja California and northwestern Mexico.

The delivery of water for 164 days to the Colorado River, originated on, destined to revitalize the Delta on Mexican soil, was successfully concluded.

Over the past eleven years, transformation of the Miguel Aleman restoration site was a permanent goal for Pronatura Noroeste, for the benefit of local wildlife.
We collected almost a ton of waste at Arroyo San Miguel State Park
More than 60 people joined us on Saturday, december 11th, at Arroyo San Miguel State Park, to collect 940 kilos of garbage and trash scattered around the park.

More than 100 La Paz residents enjoyed a bird-watching day at Eco Parque´s lagoons
As part of National Conservation Day, celebrated on November 27th, Pronatura Noroeste successfully promoted the third session of local bird-watching in the Municipal Youth´s Ecopark , in the city of La Paz, Baja California Sur.
