The International Coastal Cleanup is a global initiative led by Ocean Conservancy that began more than 30 years ago. In the municipality of Ensenada, civil society organizations, the Baja Californian public, and governmental and academic institutions gathered on September 21st to collect and document trash found along the coast.

The first workshop to create guardians for Bahia Magdalena mangrove was on May 21st of 2019 at Santo Domingo, Comondú, Baja California Sur. This community -located in the Pacific coast- has direct contact with the mangrove, making it a strategic population for its conservation.

Within the El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve (Baja California Sur) is the Ejido Luis Echeverria Alvarez, a site that attracts global attention since the grey whale stops there in its migratory journey to give birth to its offspring.

During the time of Easter holydays, the Pejerreinas – a group of women from the Gulf – and Pronatura Noroeste installed a n information stand on the beach of the Gulf of Santa Clara to share information about the spawning of the Gulf Grunion and the migration of shorebirds like the Pacific Red Knot with the community and tourists.

The Conservation Education program develops a line of work to contribute to the protection of marine ecosystems in Northwest Mexico through teacher training and design of educational materials.

Given the need to obtain indicators about the frequency material is used and identify the scope of teacher training, we designed an instrument to measure if the content of the educational materials we develop leads to a change in attitude and behaviors by students, teachers, and communities in which we work.

Pronatura Noroeste received the Ecological Merit Award 2016 in the framework of the Conference of Parties (COP 13), on the Agreement on Biological Diversity, in the city of Cancun, Quintana Roo. The ceremony, held Sunday December 4 2016 at the International Convention Center in Cancun, was chaired by Rafael Pacciano Alamán, Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat).

The local and international communities came together on Saturday to commemorate and celebrate Bahía de Todos Santos as the sixth World Surfing Reserve.
