Baja California celebrates the designation of the Arroyo San Miguel State Park
On September 17, 2021, the Baja California government published the executive decree that designated the “Arroyo San Miguel” State Park. The San Miguel stream and beach are located in the City of Ensenada and cover an area of 67 hectares of coastal and riparian landscape in the Pacific coast of Baja California. The Secretary of Sustainable Economy and Tourism of the State government, with the technical support of Pronatura Noroeste, carried out all the procedures in legal terms to protect this emblematic site, which guarantees the protection of biodiversity, as well as access to public spaces for the sport, recreation and family life in the open air.

Armando Ayala, Mayor of Ensenada, will manage the creation of the “Arroyo San Miguel” State Park with Governor Jaime Bonilla
The proposed state park will cover the need for green areas in the El Sauzal de Rodríguez Delegation, making a space for family gatherings and sports.
The Municipal President is expected to make a formal request to the Governor of the State, Jaime Bonilla, to create what would be the first state-run natural protected area.

Our region is located in the Pacific Migratory Route, which means we live in an area that provides refuge and rest to many birds in transit to their nesting or overwintering sites. But we not only live with these birds, we also live with innumerable birds that reside in the cities where we live and about which we still know little.

Research on the Yuma Ridgway rail advances in the Colorado River Delta
The first data on the Yuma Ridgway rail specimens were obtained through a telemetry system. This research project seeks to understand the patterns of dispersion of the Yuma Ridgway rail in the Mexican territory and determine if they demonstrate migratory movements or remain in the wetlands of the Colorado River Delta.
