Pronatura Noroeste AC: Committed to conservation in nortwestern Mexico

Our mandate encompasses the ecoregions of the Baja California Peninsula, Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, the western portions of Chihuahua and Durango, the coasts of Jalisco, Colima, the Gulf of California and its islands, and the Exclusive Economic Zone of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean corresponding to those states.

This region shows one of the highest growth rates on a national level and is one of the most threatened with regard to the conservation of its natural richness, upon which its principal economic activities depend. Our organization has operated in northwestern Mexico since 1991. We have offices, personnel, and active conservation programs operating from the cities of Ensenada (B.C.), La Paz (B.C.S.), San Luis Río Colorado (Sonora), and Mazatlán (Sinaloa), in addition to field stations in Álamos (Sonora), Río Hardy (B.C.), Bahía de los Ángeles (B.C.) and Puerto San Carlos (B.C.S.).
